Photos from a recent trip to Thailand in November 2007. Photos of Loi Kratong Festival of Lights in Chang Mai on Ping River. This festival gives thanks to the goddess of water. She is honored by floating offerings made from banana trees full of leaves, money, flowers, candles and incense down the river. These offerings are also made of bread to give something back to the fish. Paper ballons are sent airborne by flaming rings that carry away the bad luck of last year and bring in good luck for this year. The mountain pictures are from a small town named Pai in the Northwest part of Thailand.
